Published in 2007 and written by Two Egg's author and
historian, Two Egg, Florida: A Collection of Ghost
Stories, Legends and Unusual Facts has become a
favorite with Two Egg fans around the world.
Dale Cox grew up in the Two Egg area and wrote the book
to pay tribute to the area that he calls home.
The following is excerpted from the author's introduction:
When you leave the paved highway and drive down the
dusty roads, it is like living the old life again. Cell phones
don’t work once you get too far into the pines. High speed
internet is available I suppose, but most people don’t
have a need for it. Instead, they still walk in the evenings,
fish with cane poles, talk about snakes and alligators,
comment on Sunday’s sermon and wonder how the
watermelons will do this year.
For me, it is always a good reminder of what the world
once was and probably should be again. No matter what
you are told, you can still go home. And the trip is usually
worth the journey.
